The doctoral education is an important activity at the MN-faculty, and doctoral candidates play an important role in the Faculty's activities.
The Faculty carry out research within all the traditional natural sciences and has a strong focus on the quality of the doctoral education. The aim is to educate candidates who are attractive to both Norwegian and foreign employers.
The Faculty's doctoral education is also of interest for private research centers and private industry. A large portion of the doctoral candidates have their Ph.D.-funding from external sources and most of the graduated candidates get jobs in the private sector.
